Intensive Moscow's Strikes Eliminate Power Throughout Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
Ukraine's power facilities have faced escalating attacks in the past few days

Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have resulted in power cuts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were wounded while residents in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and dealt with interruptions to drinking water, according to city officials.

Meanwhile, a minor was fatally injured in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, according to area administrators.

Moscow has intensified strikes on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while the country's government has requested "substantial measures" from allies to apply pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not window dressing but firm measures - from the US, the EU and the major economies - in delivering defensive weapons and enforcing restrictions," mentioned in a public message.

He said that 450 drones and several dozen rockets struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such attacks as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and repair crews were laboring to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles hit energy infrastructure and civilian homes in the capital.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the assaults on the city have been taken to hospital, per statements from city authorities.

Regional authorities said the city experienced intense attacks throughout the evening. A young boy was killed and three other people were injured.

The assaults succeed periods of air raids in the territory, sections of which are currently controlled by invading troops.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to spot.

Government officials told journalists that Moscow was deliberately attempting to demolish the national power system, with assaults already impacting fuel infrastructure.

Officials stated utility staff and officials were bracing for further attacks.
